Cell viability (%) is reported as the mean of 3 measurements.Use:Naive T cells were only electroporated in 100 µL reactions.
Why is the Neon NxT Electroporation System a better alternative to the electroporation cuvette?
Figure 3. Advantages of the Neon NxT pipette tip compared to the standard electroporation cuvette. The patented biologically compatible(A)The Neon NxT tip features proven capillary electroporation technology that has significant advantages over(B)electroporation cuvettes.
Unlike standard cuvette-based electroporation chambers, the Neon NxT Electroporation System uses a patented, biologically compatible pipette-tip chamber that generates a more uniform electrical field. This design allows for better maintenance of physiological conditions, resulting in high cell survival compared to conventional electroporation.†
- Creates a more uniform electric field.
- Maintains a stable pH throughout the electroporation chamber
- Generates minimal heat
- form fewer ions
- Reduces the shear force experienced by cells.
Precisely optimize electroporation parameters for different cell types, cell densities, payloads, and electroporation protocols
Customizable electroporation parameters
With the Neon NxT Electroporation System, you can precisely control the parameters that are most important to your experiment without wasting precious time adjusting the ones that aren't. This transfection system allows you to modify:
- pulse voltage
- Pulse width
- number of pulses
- cell type
- buffer type
- payload type
Versatility for different payloads, cell types, and cell densities
Deliver DNA, RNA, or protein to a wide variety of mammalian cells, with the flexibility to transfect 2 x 10⁴ to 6 x 10⁶ cells per reaction.
Plan easily with the TransfectionLab cloud-based app
Invitrogen TransfectionLab, a cloud-based application located atThermo Fisher connection, you can automatically generate a step-by-step guide tailored to each electroporation experiment, starting from the design stage. You can remotely configure multiple plate layouts for up to 384 samples, and any protocol or plate layout saved in the app can be directly accessed on the connected Neon NxT system.
Quickly transfect cells with a simple three-step workflow, a single buffer kit, and an intuitive user interface
Simplified Electroporation Workflow
Easy to follow and execute, the streamlined workflow of the Neon NxT Electroporation System requires minimal training and improves consistency and reproducibility.
Using this transfection system, the electroporation process is simple: first, take the cells and mix the plasmid in the tip of the Neon NxT pipette. Second, connect it to the pipette holder and press Electroporate. Finally, pipet the transfected cells back into your culture vessel. Since transfection occurs at the pipette tip, transfection is completed in just 3 easy steps: aspirate, electroporate, and dispense.

Less processing time with this electroporation system
In addition to simplifying workflow, our patented electroporation technology shortens the overall process to 10-15 minutes, compared to a conventional electroporation system, since transfection occurs in the Neon NxT pipette tip.†
A single buffer kit for many mammalian cell types
Take the hassle out of searching for a buffer kit that will work with your cell line. We have simplified the process with a buffer kit that is compatible with over 150 mammalian cell lines. We recommend using Invitrogen Neon NxT Resuspension Buffer R at voltages below 1900 V and Invitrogen Neon NxT Resuspension Buffer T at higher voltages.
Time-saving plate setup
Instead of adjusting electroporation parameters between samples with the Quick Start, set up an entire plate in advance using the Neon NxT Electroporation System's intuitive user interface. Monitor progress on the screen as you electroporate each of your samples and electroporate up to 24 samples in less than 20 minutes.
Minimize sample transfer loss and risk of valuable cell contamination with a unique and compact electroporation instrument design
Minimal sample transfer loss
Your samples are precious, but some volume is inevitably lost during transfer to and from a conventional electroporation cuvette. Electroporation in the Neon NxT Electroporation System occurs within the pipette tip, helping to minimize sample loss and the amount of shear force experienced by cells.
Minimal sample contamination
The compact size of the Neon NxT system, including the pulse generator and pipetting station, makes it small enough to fit in most biosafety cabinets (BSCs). Your samples always remain within the aseptic area while you are using the instrument, helping to reduce the risk of contaminating precious cells. The Neon NxT system also has a new cable management feature that makes it easy to use at the BSC.
